GM Builders and Jumpers!
We hope you’re having a great start to your year! It’s been an exciting start for us, so we just wanted to give you a short peek into some of the things we’ve been up to.
Migrating to Unity
We’ve kept this one under wraps for a while, but we’re finally able to reveal some information about it.
We will be porting Etherjump from the current JavaScript engine, to Unity!
Couple things to note:
Movement mechanics and other advanced techniques (“superjump“, etc) will be preserved in this new engine
Plot builds will be unaffected by this change
The move to Unity will come with a number of benefits for the Etherjump gameplay and ecosystem, including:
Performance boost
Greater portability across platforms
Shorter development cycles
In addition, it will enable us to add many more dynamic elements to the game, in a shorter span of time. With Unity, we can ship the game across more platforms, and make more effective hires through the rich pool of talent within the Unity community.

Game Asset Refresh
Over time, as we’ve worked with various artists, there have come to be some inconsistencies in art style with some of the Etherjump game assets.
As such, we are remastering some of our older assets to be more aligned with the style of some of our newer assets.
